About the Register
What this index is, how it is written, and what it refuses to do.
The Dunk Dynasty Register is an independent editorial index of hotels. It covers four sections — art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels — and describes each property as a building in a place rather than as a product with a score attached.
How entries are written
Every entry is written as prose. There are no specification tables, no key-value grids and no bullet inventories of amenities, because those formats flatten the differences between buildings that are not remotely alike. A paragraph can tell you that a hotel was converted from a world's fair pavilion, or that its ice structure survives the summer because a geothermal field runs the refrigeration. A table cannot.
The facts used are general and true to the character of the property: what it is, roughly where it stands, what kind of accommodation it offers, and what is notable about its setting or construction. Anything that would need a citation to be trustworthy — current prices, room counts, award claims, opening hours — is left out, because a static page cannot keep such things accurate and a reader is better served by the hotel's own information.
What is not here
There are no star ratings, no scores, no guest reviews and no testimonials. Nothing on this site has been invented to look like feedback from a person. There is also no booking engine, no availability search and no price comparison: this register does not sell rooms, take reservations or act as an agent for any property.
Geography
The index is geographically neutral. It is not written from the perspective of any one country and does not present itself as a local guide. Properties appear because they illustrate something about their category, not because of where they happen to be.
On the casino section
Hotels in the casino section are described as hotels first. A licensed gaming floor is noted as one facility of the property alongside its restaurants, theatres and meeting space. The register does not describe games, odds, promotions or play, does not encourage gambling, and takes no position on it. Gaming facilities are age-restricted and regulated in their own jurisdictions.
